Denver, CO (February 13, 2025) —Meow Wolf Denver is thrilled to announce In Club We Trust: Portraits of the Underground, the first photography exhibit at Convergence Station by Denver's reigning nightlife documentarian, Shadows Gather. Opening on C-Street's Galleri Gallery on February 19, 2025, this electric exhibition of photography captures the raw energy, spectacle, and unapologetic self-expression of underground club culture. Running through April 23, 2025, In Club We Trust invites guests to step into the neon-lit world of the after-hours scene, where the dance floor is a sanctuary and every night tells a story.

"I've spent years photographing the underground, capturing the faces and energy that make nightlife what it is,” said Shadows Gather. “In Club We Trust isn't just an exhibit—it's a piece of a world that shaped me. These photos are proof that we were here, that we built something real, and that it mattered." 

Curated as part of Month of Photography Denver, the exhibition transports visitors into the world Shadows Gather has spent years immortalizing—where club kids, drag royalty, and nightlife icons reign. Featuring candid and posed portraits dripping with glamour and grit, In Club We Trust is a love letter to the uninhibited and the avant-garde, a documentation of Denver's underground at its most dazzling and defiant. Shooting backstage in a nightclub's makeshift dressing room—a semi truck trailer out back—Shadow documents drag artists in the raw moments of preparation. In an era when queer and trans communities face unprecedented political erasure, these moments—whether intimate portrayals of backstage drag performers or party pics of very public trans and queer joy—become an act of resistance. 

“Shadows Gather's work has always captured and honored the raw, unfiltered reality of those who defy societal expectations,” said Brandon Vargas, Artist Liaison for Meow Wolf Denver. “I am so thrilled to show her work as it shares many of the same qualities that make Meow Wolf attractive and intriguing - it's a place where everyone can belong, create, and be their true selves."

• April 9, 2025: Picture This - Shadows Gather Instant Photo Workshop

Step into the frame and let your creativity shine! Picture This is an interactive instant photography workshop hosted by nightlife photographer Shadows Gather, alongside a few fabulous club kid friends.

Snap & Craft: Strike a pose and take home a one-of-a-kind Instax portrait, captured with Shadow's signature flair. Then, get hands-on and design your own custom Instax frame, complete with decorative charms and personal touches.

All materials provided – just bring your best self and an eye for the extraordinary. Whether you're a photo enthusiast or just love a good DIY moment, this workshop is all about self-expression, creativity, and fun.
