Visit Park City

Park City welcomes all types of travelers with open arms, but families make up a significant portion of visitors to this Utah destination. The reasons are many, ranging from the ease of access from Salt Lake City International Airport – a major advantage for those traveling with children – to the city's exceptional readiness to host families with a wide variety of special activities both on and off the slopes.

According to research conducted with Brazilian tour operators, 75% of travelers who chose Park City as their destination during the 2023-2024 winter season were families – 41.7% with children and 33.3% with teenagers. This is no coincidence. Known for its snow-capped mountains, the city offers two world-class ski resorts – Park City Mountain, the largest in the United States, and Deer Valley Resort, named the best in the country for 12 consecutive years – both of which have renowned schools for teaching the basics of skiing.

The options go beyond the slopes and include Utah Olympic Park, showcasing the region's Olympic legacy, Woodward Park City for action sports and family fun, and seasonal activities such as exploring the ice structures at the spectacular ice castles and enjoying the warm waters of Homestead Crater. Not to mention the charming Main Street, full of shops, galleries, restaurants, and the interactive Park City Museum, an unmissable spot for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the city's history.

The city also stands out for its exceptional hospitality, with hotels and resorts designed to accommodate families with comfort and convenience. In addition to spacious accommodations, many establishments offer personalized services and children's activities, making every stay even more special. The culinary scene is another highlight: ranging from casual meals to sophisticated dining, there are flavors to suit every palate, including those of younger travelers.

Guide for Brazilian Travelers

Laura Carlson, Vice President of Marketing at Visit Park City, emphasizes the city's commitment to welcoming families. “Park City is a destination that delights all generations. We have diverse activities that create unforgettable memories, and we know how important it is to plan every detail of a family trip,” she says.

To make this planning even easier, Visit Park City has just launched an exclusive travel guide for Brazilian families. Available in Portuguese, the guide, created by content creator Mari Vidigal, features the best tips on attractions, accommodation in different parts of the city, and dining for families with children and teenagers, helping visitors make the most of everything the destination has to offer.

At the request of Visit Park City, Mari also detailed the layout of the resorts, highlighted the best slopes, and pointed out amazing experiences such as the snowshoe treasure hunt. To share her experience of the destination, Mari traveled to Park City in March of this year, accompanied by her husband and two children, aged 6 and 7 at the time. “My family loves skiing, and we were curious to test the world's best snow, which is truly amazing. We also loved and were surprised by the activities beyond skiing,” says Mari.

The guide spans 56 pages and includes essential information, from the best time to travel and tips on getting around the city to practical suggestions on where to stay and buy (or even rent) winter gear in Park City, all tailored to families. The content is supported by Brand USA and can be downloaded for free from Visit Park City's website: https://bit.ly/ParkCityBR
