Puerto Rico's diverse accommodation landscape is constantly expanding. The end of 2024 saw the opening of some of the Island's best-in-class boutique hotels, Alma San Juan and Aire de O:live. This year, the much-loved El Conquistador in Fajardo will reopen following a complete renovation, adding 217 new rooms to the expansive property. The eight-storey, 130-room Hampton Inn Hotel and Casino will be opening at the end of 2025 in Ponce, Puerto Rico's second city and the cultural capital of the Island. Towards the end of the year, Four Seasons will take over and rebrand the current St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, marking its official debut in Puerto Rico. The transformation includes updates to 139 rooms and suites, the addition of 85 private residences, and enhanced pools, dining, and wellness facilities, bringing a new level of luxury to the island's east coast.
2026 will be an exciting year for venue openings. Ahead of the 2026 World Baseball Classic, San Juan's iconic Hiram Bithorn Stadium is undergoing a $35–$40 million renovation. Upgrades include interactive fan zones, a Hall of Fame Museum, luxury suites, modernized concession areas, and a team store, as part of a significant effort to elevate the fan experience for this international event. Finally, honing back in on Ponce, Litoral del Sur is a brand new coastal development adjacent to Ponce's port. It will feature six business containers for aquatic tourism including kayak, paddleboard, and island tour rentals, offering enhanced visitor experiences within walking distance of the cruise terminal.
